How to Use
The ScopeShield
is a very simple, but effective device. It's easy to attach and use,
and you'll learn very quickly how to use it most effectively. Since I
believe that a picture is worth a thousand words, this series of photos
here will probably show you all you need to know to attach and use your
ScopeShield. However, for those of you who like to see it in writing, here goes.
1) If your rifle has a rifle sling, detach the sling swivel from the
fore-end of your rifle. Hopefully, you have a quick detachable sling
swivel; that makes this process much quicker and easier. If you don't
use a sling, go to step number 2.
2) Place the large (Keeper) loop of the ScopeShield
around the fore-end of your rifle, and let it hang below the scope. If
your rifle is not equipped with a sling, loop a large rubber band
through the large (Keeper) loop and back through itself, and
slide the rubber band onto the fore-end. In the absence of a sling,
this will prevent the loss of your ScopeShield while hunting. If your rifle is equipped with a sling, go to step number 3.
3) Replace the sling and sling swivel onto the fore-end of your rifle. This will enable you to use your ScopeShield quickly, and prevent the loss of your ScopeShield. Your ScopeShield is now attached to your firearm, and ready to use. Step number 4 will show you the correct use of the ScopeShield.
4) Place the front end of the ScopeShield (the end with the large keeper loop) over the objective (front) end of your scope. Place your index finger and middle finger inside the ScopeShield on the rear end of the ScopeShield (the end with the small 'Grabber'
loop), and stretch toward the rear of the scope, dropping it down over
the scope. That's all there is to it. It takes longer to tell you how
to do it than it does to show you. If you want to do a little fine
tuning or adjustment to the ScopeShield on your rifle, just tug
it down a little on both ends and both sides, so that it covers your
rifle's action the way you'd like it to.
5) To release the ScopeShield from your scope, grasp the small 'Grabber' loop with the thumb and index finger of your trigger hand, and give it a small tug back and up, and the ScopeShield will fly free of your scope. That's all there is! Just Practice a Little.
